Where you live, whether in urban or rural areas, has a significant impact on the healthcare of individuals. Many factors affect individuals who live in the rural areas of different countries such as lack of access to healthcare, lack of transportation and low socioeconomic factors. Adults with cochlear implants who live in rural areas are no different. They do not receive timely treatment for their hearing loss which negatively affects their quality of life.
This situation is unfortunate as individuals living in rural areas are no different from ones living in urban areas. They are in dire need of healthcare systems just as much as individuals living in the urban areas. It is unfair that someone's home location can prevent them from getting access to a neccessity such as healthcare. The governement needs to implement more healthcare services in the rural areas or cater to the specific needs of individuals living in rural areas such as more transport options etc.
